When I start the emulator I get:

Raspberry Pi Emulator © 2016 Henry Leo
qemu-system-arm: -drive file=2016-02-26-raspbian-jessie.img,index=0,media=disk,format=raw: Could not open '2016-02-26-raspbian-jessie.img': Read-only file system

How can I resolve this?

Please try re-downloading the image, if it doesn't work please try v2.6.3. (Please note that version is untested!)
Is the application possibly not located in a write-enabled directory? Please check the "lock" status of the parent(s) folder. (Get-Info in the context menu)
