#1 Several Enhancements

I like Rapid Screenshot- tiny, light and and portable tool. Yet I would like to suggest several enhancements, which I believe would make the program even better.

• support for PNG - an option to save captured images in PNG format;
• save settings on exit - program settings are saved in configuration file (perhaps- Rapid Screenshot.ini) in program folder (next to the executable- Rapid Screenshot.exe), thus portability won't be lost and the users won't need to configure the program any time they start it, saved settings may include:
  • default format - JPG or PNG (if PNG is supported);
  • default quality - default quality for JPG files;
  • default save location - the last used directory for saving images is remembered;
  • remember the option to hide the program before capture (check box Hide This Before Capture)
• customizable shortcut keys for different capture modes:
  • Entire Desktop
  • Active Window
  • Portion of Screen
• support for system tray - an option to minimize or close the program to system tray;

I hope that at least support for PNG format and saving settings on exit would be implemented since the other suggestions may require much work.

Thanks for the quick response. Actually I wondered whether to open a ticket here or to contact you directly via e-mail as I didn't know whether you monitor SourceForge. I had a look at at your website and found other useful and interesting stuff. Keep the good work!

I came upon Rapid Screenshot by chance as one night I was browsing Screen Capture projects on SourceForge and I discovered your nifty little tool. This is the type of software I like- tiny, portable by design, doing one thing but doing it well. I found out that it is listed on Softpedia but obviously an older version without version number. One more thing- in the next release you may add the version number in About window (for example- Rapid Screenshot version 2.1)and you may also add file version to the executable (for example- 2.1.0.0) so that software repository sites like Softpedia could monitor new releases and update their page when there is a new release.
