How to Linux:

Ubuntu, Fedora and other Unix/Linux

  • Download the randomabc111-python.tar.gz file and save it in a folder for example Desktop
  • Install from your software installer (Like Ubuntu Software Center in Ubuntu) python (most Unix os have it already installed)
  • Open terminal
  • Type: python -v
    Check if the version number is 2.x or 3.x
  • Untar the archive with your favorite archive manager
  • Type: cd Desktop
  • Hit enter
  • Type: ls
  • Hit enter, you should see the randomabc111-p2.py and randomabc111-p3.py in the list
  • Type:

python randomabc111-p2.py

if you have python2 or

python randomabc111-p3.py

if you have python3 installed

  • Follow on screen instructions

  • Install from your software installer (Like Ubuntu Software Center in Ubuntu) MuseScore

  • Open MuseScore
  • In MuseScore go to Plugins -> ABC import
  • Select the abc file in Desktop (default name random.abc)
  • Now you should see the random score
  • Print it!
