John Lakkas
There is a newer version of this page. You can find it here.

How to Linux:

Ubuntu, Fedora and other Unix/Linux

Method one, run the binary file
- Untar
- In terminal go to the "bin_linux" directory and type "./randomabc12"

Method two, run python version
- Untar
- Install python from your software installer (Like Ubuntu Software Center in Ubuntu, most Unix os have it already installed)
- Type: python -v
Check if the version number is 2.x or 3.x
- In terminal go to the "python" directory and type "python randomabc12-p2.py" or "python randomabc12-p3.py" according to your python version.

  • Follow on screen instructions (see How to use the Program)

  • Install MuseScore from your software installer (Like Ubuntu Software Center in Ubuntu)

  • Open MuseScore
  • In MuseScore go to Plugins -> ABC import
  • Select the abc file in Desktop (default name random.abc)
  • Now you should see the random score
  • Break every 6 measures for better readability (Plugins -> Break Every X Measures) (Optional)
  • Print it!
