Hi ... I read the feature requests :-) I will add a calibration for the tuner and the other modules ... I will put on the settings .. that will be good :-) I was read that a few months ago .... but I was forget .. sorry ... thanks to remember me :-) About the background color ... well ... is easy ... if the image selected is not found ... you have the background color ... anyway I will put on the settings too :-) About jack transport sync ... I have write another message ... maybe we can improve that ... About the MIDI learn window parameter display ... ummh ... I can add two buttons to display only the current effect parameters ... or display all the parameters ... but I'm not sure right now if that will be easy or not ... I need to review some parts of the code ... but I will try :-) And thanks ... for the ideas ... :-) Josep -- Josep Andreu <holborn@...> |

IIRC jack transport dont has implemented yet tempo changes during play. We only read Tempo in the "Start" procedure. In fact if you change the "Master" tempo ... only is updated in rakarrack in the "Start" procedure, because is the when jack transport execute the callback function and we can get the Tempo parameter. That can be improved if we read the transport state inside the jack_process loop .... almost when Tap Tempo will be "On", well I think we can do that ... I'm not sure and that needs some checks ... but probably will be easy to enhance that. Josep Josep Andreu <holborn@...> |

Btw, how come currently tempo changes no matter what? I think another problem is that if the tempo changes, it is not reflected in the GUI - tempo parameters do not get visually updated. This screwed up some of my presets when I would record into Qtractor, but since Qtractor would act as a JACK Master, it would bring its own tempo into the picture and Rakarrack would silently change the tempo too, although the option in Rakarrack seemingly did not ask it to do it. What I meant with the "Sticky" button is that you could turn this behaviour on or off with it. The behaviours would be: Sticky button off - rkr behaves as it does now: when I change preset, the Tempo parameter of the effects in the new preset does *not* get changed Sticky button on - the "master" Tempo set in the upper right corner (under Tuner and Midi converter) "sticks" to all presets: when I change preset, the Tempo parameters of the effects in the new presets get automatically changed to the "master" Tempo. Does it sound reasonable? renato |

Infact, one thing which could make sense, is to use the "Assign to all" or "Copy to" buttons to assign MIDI to paramaters that aren't used in the *current* preset, but maybe in some other in the bank. Brainstorming: Could it then be possible to put, in the MIDI learn window, a button like "only current preset" that when selected will remove from the list all paramaters that are not in the current preset? The fact is that I was thinking of a way to make assigning parameters more easy, without going through the whole list, but maybe it's not that much of a hassle in the first place... Or maybe the paramaters could be filtered with the same sort of tree view that is now present for effects in "Put order in your rack" (distortion, time etc.) just some thoughts renato |

"Tempo and preset changes. Right now the behaviour is: I set a Tempo to say 120, LFOs in that preset all get set to 120, then i change preset and LFOs in this new preset are set, say, to 139, 80; i.e. they don't get automatically set to 120. While this behaviour could be what I want in some situations, in others I would find it more useful if, once Tempo is On and set to something, every time I change preset the LFOs in that preset get automatically set to Tempo. I think a "Sticky" button in the Tempo part of the window, to switch between these two behaviours, would be perfect" This kind of silent automatic behaviour of LFOs would disastrous, imho. In fact, it is bad that you cannot turn off these automatic tempo changes. At least I do not know how. With LFOs it is even worse - very often LFO does not need to be in tempo. L.V. |

This is a bad idea. What if during a performance you want to tweak additional parameters? L.V. |

Hello, Ryan kindly opened the wiki and gave me permission to edit it, so I started editing it :) I opened a features requests page: https://sourceforge.net/apps/mediawiki/rakarrack/index.php?title=Feature_Requests Could you please give it a read to check if some of these weren't allready implemented while I was sleeping? I was about to add something on MIDI assignability to On/Off of effects, but I acknowledge that I do not fully understand how this is supposed to work right now, so I ask you: how exactly should I proceed to toogle on or off effect number 1? I tried opening the MIDI learn window and assigning a MIDI controller to the "Multi On/Off" paramater in the left column, and sending it velocities 0,1 and 127.... but nothing happens. kind regards renato |
