Hi Peter,
My apology that I somehow missed to receive your email until now.
I looked at Eclipse in the past but I prefer to develop Eiffel IDE in Eiffel
instead of Java. Also I do not want to have ELJ's good work wasted.  My
intention is to develop not only the IDE but also Eiffel libraries that can
be used in real commercial applications.  I hope I will have sufficient
spare time of my own and good contribution from the Eiffel community too.

 effort towards giving SmartEiffel a good IDE. There"s already at least one 
 Eiffel for Eclipse (see <http://www.eclipse.audaly.com/>). It"s currently
just 
 syntax highlighting plus a runner for the compiler.
 
 Did you consider Eclipse?
 
 Or is Rainbow mainly intended as a way of continuing the good work done by

Rainbow sounds like a great idea, and I really like the name.

effort towards giving SmartEiffel a good IDE. There's already at least one 
Eiffel for Eclipse (see http://www.eclipse.audaly.com/). It's currently just
