All: as there is no feedback (at all) to the RC 1, my intention is to release 2.0 next weekend. There are two possibilities, either no one has tested it or there were no (serious) bugs anymore. Anyway, in both cases the best thing is to proceed. ;-) However I will still call the Mac package experimental until I get some feedback that it works. Stefan |

Hi Stefan, in 1835 the Clemens-Variant is not the default. greetings Volker Am 23.09.2015 um 21:55 schrieb Stefan Frey: > All: > as there is no feedback (at all) to the RC 1, my intention is to release > 2.0 next weekend. > > There are two possibilities, either no one has tested it or there were > no (serious) bugs anymore. John David Galt asked to change it to the published auction variant. I will stick to that change as I agree with John that in general the rules as published should be the default. A related question is how to handle rule changes from new releases: For example the up-coming 1844/1854 will deviate from the previous versions. Rails should support the old and the new release. However what should be the default? As long as it is clear that there is a default and it's easy to switch to the other versions/options, it doesn't much matter. Creating a game takes what, about 2 minutes? When you consider the entire investment of playing the game, that isn't a lot. Forcing people to change a game setup option because the default isn't the version they want to play is not a big deal.
