Hi,
I've just tested the current build, and I'm pleased to say that it does
work already. However, I would certainly call this experimental yet.
First, a practical question: could you publish the checksums (md5 or
sha) of the downloads? Some people, including me, are a bit cautious of
SourceForge after their Faux Pas with GIMP.
- Downloads and unpacks succesfully
- Program has no icon
- Does not run with default security settings ("Rails can't be opened
because it is from an unidentified developer"), as expected, since this
is an unsigned build.
- Take a relative long time (30-60 seconds) to start without progress
indication.
- Menus are at the top, once the Game Status or Map window is active.
(not yet when the New Game dialog is shown). I was very happy with that
- Menu structure is distinctly non-mac like (no File menu has unfamiliar
items, Edit menu is missing; menus change).
- Windows and text are coarse, there is no support for a retina display
(except for the menu's, which are hair-sharp)
- info sub-sub-menus contain "<html>" and "<br>" in tekst
All in all, this is definately a great step forward, and I would
certainly use this over the jar file. However, it by far no a polished
Mac app.
