I tried to setup my Eclipse (3.6.1, Windows 7, x64) to use Git with Rails project. Only read-only access as that is all I have. I did install EGit plugin. I managed to set it up to import project from git://rails.git.sourceforge.net/gitroot/rails/rails It went fine. (Yet I had to discover “manually” that I have to name the project “Rails” rather than “rails”.) But then buidling the project fails with: (1) The project was not built since its build path is incomplete. Cannot find the class file for org.apache.batik.ext.awt.geom.RectListManager. Fix the build path then try building this project (2) The type org.apache.batik.ext.awt.geom.RectListManager cannot be resolved. It is indirectly referenced from required .class files What should I do? Adam Badura |

Adam: have you setup a clean eclipse workspace or did you try to import into the existing one? I just tested with a clean setup that it works properly here. I did a step-by-step instruction for the wiki, but unfortunately I killed that by an obscure key-shortcut, which started a reload or similar of the bowser. Lesson learned: Only edit wiki documents outside of the browser. Yes, I used a clean workspace. Could you share the Wiki link? -----Oryginalna wiadomość----- From: Stefan Frey Sent: Saturday, August 27, 2011 9:47 AM To: Development list for Rails: an 18xx game Subject: Re: [Rails-devel] Read-only access through Git Adam: have you setup a clean eclipse workspace or did you try to import into the existing one? Adam, as mentioned my step-by-step instruction was killed by the Browser navigation during the wikipedia edit. This time I used the firefox add-on "It's all text" and had better luck. Link is http://sourceforge.net/apps/mediawiki/rails/index.php?title=Development_environment_setup My setup: OpenSuse 11.3 Eclipse Helios Build id: 20100617-1415 JRE from Sun. java.version=1.6.0_26 Be aware that you have to choose JDK 1.5 compatibilty mode if you work with Java 6 or 7. Please check if you created the git repo inside the workspace, which can cause troubles for Eclipse.
