One piece of information I've just stumbled upon and which could be
valuable for the users of the docking framework:

Pressing "Ctrl" while dragging an externalized (/detached) panel
averts retaching it to the OR Window.
This is valuable when aiming at placing an externalized panel partly
on top of the OR Window.
