14 minutes. That's how long it took after sending this long
explanation for me to fix the problem on my own. =D

I had dug around at the past threads on this subject prior and done
lots of looking around at general eclipse help but the problem I was
having here was a very small issue which was actually already solved
for another user deep in a thread at the bottom of a message with
inline comments, so I failed to pick up on it the first time.
Basically, I needed to use a more specific checkout URL as was
suggested by Erik Vos here:

So, I'm up and running now and thanks to Erik for the help he
indirectly provided. :)
