Now that we are in JDG-pleasing mode, I thought I could as well have a look at his (and other people's) long-standing request to use the "proper" (i.e. 2-letter capital) 1835 major company names. Now changing names is trivial, but at the same time keeping backwards compatibility with respect to saved files is not. That's why it took so long - I needed a good idea to make that work. The solution is generic: any (public) company can now have an "alias" name. This alias is (only!) used to translate old to new names when loading saved files. (New saved files should only contain the new names - but I haven't checked that yet). I think it all works now; at least my longish old 1835 saved files still load. That's no guarantee that I have covered everything, so I would encourage everyone who's able to run from the newest code to check any 1835 saved files. Erik. |
