Yes, I think this is a good summation. Similarly, the log file should reflect the new text rather than saying that players have passed. You are correct that this is not a show stopper. However, in my experience, when teaching new players 18EU, the distinctions between auction and purchase can be somewhat confusing. Proper use of the terms to match the rulebook helps with their understanding.
