Folks, I played a face-to-face game of 18AL two nights ago using Rails as a moderator. It went fine, and I'd guess that running Rails saved about an hour just from being able to avoid handling money. In the process of analyzing the time-stamps in the log file to figure out where we were spending our time playing the game I discovered an interesting piece of data: In a game that lasted 4 hours and 20 minutes, we spent over an hour of that time calculating revenue in our operating rounds. So in theory, having Rails perform that calculation for us would have reduced our playing time by nearly 25%. Without saying anything about the difficulty or the effort involved in adding this feature, I just wanted to point out how valuable it would be to have in Rails (for face-to-face games).
