Bug number 1049854 has now (finally) been resolved. This issue resulted in the spool running fine for a period of time but then ending up in a state which used excessive CPU and did not forward any packets (although all incomming packets were spooled).
This bug has now been fixed in version 0.22 I strongly recommend all users upgrade to this version.
I have finaly managed to get my finger out and setup a mailing list for radspool. Goto the radpsool homepage for details of how to join this list.
Code has been added to append an accounting delay time to each packet that has been spooled. This will remove the discrepency on the time when accounting occurs (assuming the accounting server takes this attribute into account).
There was a bug in previous version which meant an accounting packet from an unknown NAS would cause the spool to fall over. This is now detected and complained about appropriately instead of falling over.
update is in the CVS version at this time.
Also there is an experimental banner in there too which I have not yet provided a switch to turn off yet :) hence no file release :)
Fixed renumbering of requests being recieved by the spool. Now requests are properly renumbered before being sent to the Radacct server.
I have just released a file version of 0.17. You should upgrade to this version immediately (read the changelog before bringing live as there are changes to spooling).
This version increases stability GREATLY, and has numerous bugs squashed.
0.16 has been released into CVS (tag radspool-0_16 ).
This fixes a problem where packets from the spool were being confused with live packets and causing a crash. This version will happily play back large spools without such an occurance.
I will release as a file download later once more testing has been done
0.14 has now been released. This version fixes some major issues with the packet processing of radspool which has been causing packets to be wrongly identified as bad packets, and also caused it to produce mangled packets to the accounting server leading to the loss of some attributes in certain cases.
These issues have now been resolved. It is STRONGLY recommended that you upgrade to this version.... read more
Version 0.12 has been released.
This version includes the ability to have a test system monitor for radspool to be alive without the testing accounting packet being passed onto the accounting server. It also includes a bug fix for out of slot conditions (this occurs during exceptionaly busy times when all slots are filled, radspool tries to cleanly ignore any additional requests but crashes) A temporary fix has been added whilst a more resilient solution is devised.
Version 0.10 released today.
This version allows for Accounting server to listen on a different port to what the radspool process is listening on itself.
Also a different config file can be specified via the CLI
