As I said, I'm not really a developer so I don't even know what you mean by tags. I looked around and I don't see anything named tags. Do you mean versions? I've compared both Sourceforge and Github (with BBEdit) and there are quite a few changes. I believe the Github changes came after Sourceforge. I'm fine leaving the files on Sourceforge, I just want to make it clear that changes aren't going to take place on Sourceforge but are taking place on Github and to redirect people there. My pipe dreams are to make apt-get, yum, and brew installers for Radmind, but I'm pretty sure I will never do that. I don't how to do it and I don't use radmind enough to justify it. But that's what I'm hoping we can do with radmind. I plan on still using radmind as a general purpose scanner, even if I never run a radmind server again. For that alone I want to at least keep it buildable (which is what prompted me to start emailing because I couldn't get it to build on Mac and I think I tried on Linux and failed as well). Just from a quick look at both, it seems like the Github master branch is only ahead by your two commits to the README.md. That could probably be verified by setting up a local clone with remote tracking branches of both Github and Sourceforge. I don't want to see it go completely abandoned, so I'm want to clean up the radmind stuff a little bit. Richard Glaser just gave me access to the Github project page. I've contacted Patrick McNeal and he still has access to the SourceForge project page. I don't want to just take over and start making changes so I thought I'd email the lists and get some ideas about what I want to do. The problems I see are as follows. > > > > * Different downloads on 3 websites: radmind.org, github.com, sourceforge.net. I don't know if we can get access to radmind.org. Someone must still be paying the bill to keep the domain though. I think we should pick one and remove the other download links. SourceForge for mail lists. Github for source code, and if we can change radmind.org, maybe just redirect the whole thing to github.com. > > > > * The radmind 1.14.1 source downloads on Github and sourceforge are different. Until this week devel hasn't been used for 2 years, commit for 4 years, and announce for 10 years. I think we should combine them into 2 lists, users and devel, or maybe even 1 list. As Hauke Fath said, the commit messages have to go somewhere. > > > > I'm not a developer but have a few developer skills. I'm learning github a little bit more and am willing to try to work on this stuff. I have other pipe dreams but I think if people can just comment on what they would like to see done about the above issues and if there are other things they want addressed, then I'll see if I can get them fixed. > > > > James > > ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ > > Check out the vibrant tech community on one of the world's most > > engaging tech sites, Slashdot.org! http://secure-web.cisco.com/1fqEsdOZ6GLtuft1Zar1FTghsJIgE70nf5VXxZ3Exp04NxB1_GZ1Ucy0GGaFm46FPxc9o2C-cceC0DqXpu6-r3oOsrl_qpbUme5M0g7uDNlcHmWPRzyk6f29QrbtpFoQyRMDtIZzWZwV06qKw81KLJ9EjUviyHrIaHGSDMPSEjD5b33Fi4DOG6mgLRC_T5KdpZv_mCuNhg7tYptW4Ms3rVb6PYEIXjZnYLBkCDSM7U9FC44oL5W7dldSmbU-dWF0oSpGKe__9iF7IVJP6aF9AeuFd-ASURdjUeG0mSOUFgAikVS4OrEjXfyKZz1l5FzaKG428dBEbddrDo0DjD0JyuEE5kToetfyef4mTNY73XAds_l0imV5SY_Xbk6SzFi5nLD65PSHmbDsfNBf0QMZGWPofDD6_iSJkYziBum3CbzVzJ3tGXBHOdLxtswfpaEWTXxwninuuPzjr-q5eU5mUbOBO6lbRGDC7eXMCnosQk3axMVo9CPo3guiMEz3mmzjEzeJEZekZEQmzoeFYqWQ7EA/http%3A%2F%2Fsdm.link%2Fslashdot > > _______________________________________________ > > Radmind-users mailing list > > Rad...@li... > > https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/radmind-users > > > > > > > > ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ > Check out the vibrant tech community on one of the world's most > engaging tech sites, Slashdot.org! http://sdm.link/slashdot > _______________________________________________ > Radmind-devel mailing list > Rad...@li... > https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/radmind-devel |
