    Hi
First of all thanks a million to the creators of this project.!!!!

I am new to RadiusDesk and testing it. I have installed it on a dedicated server and for remote router I want to use TP-Link WR841N. But unfortunately I have v10 of this device (awesome device).
Can someone help me getting a working meshdesk firmware for TP-Link WR841N V10?
    Help is much appreciated!
    Thanks

I am going to build firmware (for next couple of hours). I will post the test results.
    Thanks mate!

*I want to know if I have a working openwrt v10 firmware, can I add Meshdesk into it? If yes how?*

You need to be a normal user instead of root when building the OpenWrt firmware.

I'm attaching a built for you. Please try it and let us know. (Remember to use the node config utility to point it to your server)

    Hi
I flashed this firmware and now this router is not giving IP address to my computer. No wiFi signal as well. Although Power LED, LAN Led and Lock LED are green. I think my router is bricked.

  • Dirk van der Walt

Did you follow these instructions to point the router to your server?

    http://www.radiusdesk.com/user_guide/md_firmware

If the router supports TPFTP flashing (which it should AFAIK) its very easy to put the original firmware back and sort of impossible to brick the router

      Hi Dirk
I am now using VM on dedicated server and testing lion mesh.
I have flashed TP-link 841N router with given firmware and updated radius IP in node config utility. (It is now showing the IP of my radiusdesk)
I have also updated radius server IP in lion mesh.
I have connected my TP-link router to my internet router but it is not working.
In meshdesk overview it is showing green but not broadcasting SSID.
(I have tested it with bridge mesh http://www.radiusdesk.com/user_guide/md_implement_high_speed
and it brodcast ssid which I configure in mesh and when I connect to this ssid mt client gets IP from internet router and the concept of bridge works just fine. but I want captive portal)
Can you please login to 62.4.15.8/rd with default username password and see whats wrong going on?
It would be a great help.
      Thanks

      Hi,
The router does not connect to the server.
Make sure the tp-link has internet access, Which port have you used on the router?
Once the firmware is on the router you need to use eth1 and not the wan port

    Vikas Sharma - 2015-12-24

    oh
i was connecting it ti wan port.
which one is eth1? any port within lan ports?

and what changes you did on server?
i am not near to router now. i will be available tomorrow and let you know the test results.

I also want to know if I can use luci on tp link router. can i configure the tplink router? I mean what Ip it has? does it run dhcp to allocate IPs to its clients?
sorry but I am not getting its networking right?
plz help me understanding it well.

ETH1 is the one closest to the WAN port.
The change on the server was on the Lion mesh on the nodes tab I deleted 1 node as there were 2 the same.
I had the same problem we I first used the TP-Link 841 and 941.
You might have to reboot the router a second time if you don't see the report.
Let me know if it is sorted out.
There is not enough ram on the tp link so no you can't install Luci.
The meshdesk config should give out IP's
I will check back tomorrow around this time.

    Hi
Now I am more confused. Problems:
    1) No wifi signal
    2) When I am adding node, there are two nodes with same settings being added.
    3) Node is showing online in Meshdesk in both conditions. When I am connecting it to WAN port and when connecting to LAN port. (weird)

Node Config utility showing correct Server IP.
    Dirk please help me.

I have also tried building my own images from trunk (as only trunk has source of 841n v10). But there are no images for 841n in bin/ar71xx directory.
You can take a look at my linux system.
    ssh into 212.47.249.37 and use

    password: vikas123456

It seems nobody is going to help :(
I have installed a new Radiusdesk Server on cloud (VM is little buggy). Flashed the Router. Pointed it to the server @62.4.15.8
Added NAS device. Added node in Mesh.
Connected WAN port of TPlink 841N to my internet router and rebooted the router.
In meshdesk overview it is showing online but in router:
    Only Power LED is ON
    Sometimes Lock LED blink
    * No SSID

    I am using Cheetah Mesh.
    Server IP 62.4.15.8
    Default credentials.

    Please help guys!

UPDATE: SSIDs (Cheetah_Wireless and guest) come and go frequently.

    Hi Vikas,

You must plug the internet access into LAN 1, the wan port will only connect to vthe server once, so after the first time the node connects the wan port ceases to function.
Move your internet connection to lan 1 then power cycle the router, wait 10 minutes then power cycle the router again, you should then see the router sending a report every 60 seconds.
If you ssh into your server and run this command tail -f /var/log/nginx/access.log you should see the node reporting in as gateway.

Did what you said. No luck.
Fluctuating SSIDs.... (come for a while and then disappear.)
I think issue is in Firmware.

It seem to me as if the router is rebooting all the time.
What is the user name and password for the ssh access
I just want to see what the log is saying.

Ok I see that the node reports in every minute but it is not getting it's config from the server.
    This could be firmware related.
Let me see if I have 841 v10 firmware and I will let you know
