hi, i use radius desk with coovachilli to run my captive portal site. so is it possible to achieve seamless reauthorization for users without redirecting them to the login page once users authorized with thire vouchers? i plan to print the voucher to users but i believe they wouldn't keep it for months. i managed to make voucher one time use, but when the session expires , they are forwarded to the login page even if they already authorized and the voucher is still valid. thank you in advance.

I solved it myself. The attribute of the registered users was not properly set. The bandwidth was very narrow.

Hi, I created a captive portal site with radiusdesk and coovachilli and works pretty well but the internet connection is too slow. when authorizing users manually by coovachilli running "chilli_query authorize ip xxxx", the speed is like 180Mbps but when authorizing through the captive portal (default one), it gets 100kbps. Any ideas?

Hello, I think it is the same problem in my environment, version 2022-B. It is not possible to prohibit logins from NAS if this realm is not allowed on this NAS. Mayby is it a solution for you to make a difference between SSID West Office and SSID East Office...? But it would be easier to have a difference beetween the realms. Realms are there to delimit access from different companies or departments, for example. Exact what you mean but it does not work. Bernie

Hi radiusdesk forum, I try to use captive portal with guest access. When I select the guest ssid (captive portal is running with this ssid) then I see coova's log showing radius reject with the reason that User E6-14-CF-29-2C-E7 not registered. If I try to click guest access on the login page I get the message: Latest Challenge could not be fetched from hotspot How can i fix this issue? Thank you so much.

An update: I started a new kernel fresh from scratch and backtracked the steps that would break FreeRADIUS. I was able to get FreeRADIUS up and running until following the FreeRADIUS configuration part of the RadiusDESK tutorial, "Configuring FreeRADIUS version 3.x." After extracting the RADIUSdesk modified version of FreeRADIUS to the respective directory, results in the same errors as above, Aborted connection 351 to db: 'rd' user: 'rd' host: 'localhost' (Got an error reading communication packets)...

Followed the installation instructions on the Wiki for Ubuntu 20.04 and get the following errors when attempting to start FreeRADIUS via systemctl start freeradius. I've spent a few hours trying to resolve the issue now but no luck. Has anyone come up with a similar error? Or any tips or recommendation on resolving it? Someone on stackoverflow had a similar issue but with daloradius. (I've posted his recommendations below but am unsure of how to go about implementing it with RadiusDESK.) Thank you....

Hi Dirk, I just revisited RadiusDesk, installed it with a public IP and local chilli 1.5 controller on openwrt, both connected over a VPN for radius auth. The chilli uses the SSL certs from the same server. Still no luck trying to login. "Latest hotspot challenge could not be fetched". Does it work like this any more after the chrome upgrade? or only on local network?

Hi, Did you include HTTPS support on the Mikrotik? http://www.radiusdesk.com/docuwiki/user_guide/mikrotik/rb751_advanced#enable_https_support_on_mikrotik Without it this error will most likely happen in the current browsers. Regards

Resolved.. My mistake: since the current version of rd.sql has no updated option for "Coova Chilli Specific", I forgot update database with : sudo mysql -u root rd < /var/www/html/cake3/rd_cake/setup/db/8.061_add_coova_settings.sql

I installed Radiusdesk on June 24, 2002. In the Login page settings on the settings: Coova Chilli specific I selected the JSON Unavailable and use CHAP options. After saving the settings I get a message: the item has been updated. However, when I close the Login page settings, and then reopen the settings for Coova Chilli, these two items are turned off.

I have solved the problem. I used phpmyadmin too view the tables. I deleted the entries in the "device" table with non-existing "permanent_user_id". Then BYOB works again.

Hello! I am using RADIUSdesk-2021-B. I found that the BYOD tab does not list out devices. I removed some users with BYOD devices recently. Is it the problem? I would like to figure out why the SQL of listing devices return nothing. But how can I view the SQL result in debugging mode? I am very appreciated if anybody can help me or give me some hints.
