I realized that for Windows Phone applications and controls, it's really important to follow the Modern UI guidelines and I'm planning on bringing the RadialSlider control up to speed with the specifications. From the version 0.3.0 on I have all the extra chrome removed from the control, which means better performance and more consistent UI.
Now that the control uses phone's brushes for the UI, it behaves correctly under dark AND light themes, no extra work or adjustments needed. The newest download (0.3.0) is located in a separate folder than before, so head over to the files section and Modern UI folder to download the sources and an example app to play with. I'm going to create a better example app and updated documentation in the next few days.
