Rachota bundled in Fedora Linux

We are very proud to announce that Rachota Timetracker was selected from variety of other open source time tracking tools and it was added [1] to Fedora - Red Hat's free Linux distribution as a new package. Final release of Fedora 17 is scheduled for May 8th, 2012.

Data loss in the last week of year fixed

We recommend all Rachota users who must track their time during the last week of every year to download the latest build #111229 [1] of Rachota 2.3 or development version 2.4. The problem [2] causing loss of all data in the 52th week has been finally fixed.

Rachota 2.3 released

New invoice/report generation wizard UI spec

The last remaining feature planned for Rachota 2.3 (enhanced reporting capability) is going to be implemented. If you want to provide your opinion on the new wizard take a look at the functional specification [1] and send your feedback to Rachota users list [2] as soon as possible!

Manual editing of task time implemented!

Finally, after years of struggling and resistance :-) I finished implementation of RFE #2812242 [1] and since today's Rachota 2.3 development build #100205 it is possible to manually edit time of tasks. Just select a task and invoke "Task > Correct duration" from main menu.

1) It is possible to adjust start time of current day via "Tools > Adjust start ti&me ..." menu item. (RFE #1991673)

Rachota is a portable application for timetracking different projects. It runs everywhere. It displays time data in diagram form, creates customized HTML reports and provides suggestions on better time use. The totally portable yet personal timetracker.

Rachota 2.2 introduces two main brand new features: Analytics view and Projects tab in History view. Analytics view analyses measured data of Rachota user and provides suggestions for improvements. In addition to that it also shows a comparison chart with working times of user and other Rachota users. FEATURE ENHANCEMENTS:
1) Diary backup and recovery.
Rachota creates a backup of the current diary file that is by default refreshed every 10 minutes. If the diary file is corrupted on startup, the user is asked if the backup should be used instead. The backup interval can be changed in the settings.cfg file via 'backupAge' switch.
2) System tray icon always visible.
Rachota's icon is always visible in the operating system tray for consistency and improved usability. This feature has been implemented for users of virtual desktops.... read more

First of all I want to quickly address some things. We steadily develop Rachota and publish new builds. Until now this went a bit unnoticed for lack of communication. Therefore, starting today, we will publish a news item for every new build.

Rachota 2.0 Beta released !

The time has finally come :-) and I have open sourced my time tracking tool that I have been using for 2 years now. Don't waste your time on searching for something else and go download this 2.0 Beta version and please provide your feedback !
