When generating a report, no corresponding _chart.png is created.
This is with 2.2 on RedHat Linux Enterprise.
This also happens to me on Windows 7 using Rachota 2.2. An error message window pops up saying there were "I/O problems when writing to <PATH> file." Next I'll try with v2.3.
Still happens in Rachota v2.3. Using JDK 1.6.0_18 .
Thanks tor you bug report and additional investigations. Does it mean that your report HTML file is successfully created in the selected location but PNG chart is not?
Jirka, yes that is the case. The HTML file is successfully created, but not the PNG .
Currently I'm not able to run Java as an admin to check if it is a privilege issue. I'll post back when I get it running as an admin.
As an admin, the difference is that the I/O error message does not pop up.
The chart is still not generated. I used a simple filename, "rachota" (.html), to save to.
Pedro, I have sent you a special Rachota 2.2 build via a separate e-mail which prints I/O exception to console if writing PNG file fails. Can you send me the exception that occurs when you generate the report?
Thanks a lot,
[...] java.io.FileNotFoundException: C:\Users\pedro_chart.png (Access is denied) [...]
It should have been trying to C:\Users\pedro.palhoto.DOMAIN\Documents\rachota_chart.png instead.
Seems like the first dot in my username messes up the chart path.
Oh, now it's clear. You are right that it's caused by those dots in your PATH. I have fixed that and sent you an updated build. Can you please confirm it's working now? Thanks!
Thank you Jirka. It is working now, great work.
Thank *you* for such a rapid response and fix. Let me know if there is anything else you need me to test.
This is a great piece of software, a really simple and effective interface, congrats.
If user's PATH contains dots (.), ignore them when building path for report chart.
Checking in HistoryView.java;
/cvsroot/rachota/rachota/src/org/cesilko/rachota/gui/HistoryView.java,v <-- HistoryView.java
new revision: 1.51; previous revision: 1.50
Thank you very much Pedro for a really smooth cooperation and nice words about my application of course! ;-)
