The system was developed for use at the Wells Fun Run in Somerset between 2006 and 2009, by which time the number of entries for the largest race (10K) had risen from 250 to 400. At this stage the organisers opted to use the services of a 'chip' timing company to produce the results for the larger two of the three races (10K and 5K, or 3 mile), but the system was still used for the junior (1K) results.
