I'm sorry I haven't gotten around to stating this, but to make it more obvious, I am taking a pause from R3alm seeing as there is little motivation and few downloads... And that my skills perhaps of not at this level yet.
Currently, r3alm, a simulation game, is under heavy development, with no actual releases yet. However, recently, a demo with its map parsing features, later to be improved, is being released! Come check it out!
Realm 2 was the predecessor of R3alm.
It has some good code, some bad code, but in general is a much better example of what this game will be like than Realm 1.
It contains some AI, and while it is basic that may allow for some demos to be created.
This game is actually okay-ish fun to play, but rarely will you get past the random events after (2 years?) such as meteor showers.
Have fun!

Realm 1 was an ancestor of R3alm.
It has the worst code you can imagine.
It's something you never want to learn from; a nightmare to debug and expand.
However, playing it may give insight to the bare-bones of what R3alm will be like.
It is now possible to get the Realm 1 source code!
There seems to be some errors, at least in the Linux g++ compilation, and thus why there are no executables.
There will be updates when it is fixed, and when Realm 2 code is uploaded!
In addition, R3alm's features that are intended to be in it have been released as well (called "FeaturesToMake.txt").
At the moment it is the idea and interaction stuff of the game, but many things will be added as we go along. This is just to get everyone excited :)... read more
After a few months of pondering things, R3alm has, partially, began development.
R3alm is a third version of Realm, a simulation game where you develop a community, through characters. Each character can be assigned actions, and have statistics. In addition, your civilization has statistics such as food, population, etc.
The features list will soon be finished, which will be the base for the source code, and classes are beginning to be written.... read more
R3alm, a turn-based community-civilzation game based on control of people, has only one developer at the moment, which is me. Any assistance would be helpful, because I have very limited time to spend on the code for the project. It would be especially helpful if anyone who has experience with SDL, C/C++, or CVS could join this team, or simply just help and give suggestions to what I should do. Anyone interested should contact me via any means (email: personjerry@users.sourceforge.net ). Thanks in advance, and be sure to check out R3alm when the first releases are made.
I will now use my current (little) knowledge of SDL in order to better make the GUI for R3alm. Officially, R3alm now supports both POSIX and Microsoft Windows systems, and uses the SDL libraries.
Perhaps SDL would be better than the Windows API. In addition, this would allow more platforms to play R3alm. If anyone is paying attention to this project, please comment with your opinions.
Now I may start progress and uploading source files. If anyone cares to help (even though this project probably doesn't really interest you), please contact me by email.
