User Reviews

  • It works windows 10 after updating FFmpeg, but writes more no of information fields at ID3V2.3 of metadata and Foobar2000 takes wrong field as Gain (Reference field as gain, which is -23LU, hence always reduces loudness). Foobar2000 has the built in capability to write Replay Gain (It is also r128 based hence however with a reference gain of -18 LUFS instead of -23LUFS and specifies it as dB instead of LUFS, Foobar writes the Replay Gain info at ID3V2.3 at replaygain_track_gain & replaygain_track_peak) (Unlike mp3gain which writes at APE Tags) Method Install Replay Gain Scanner plug in (foo_rgscan)>Select all the playlist to be processed>Right click on above selected playlist>ReplayGain>Scan per Track Gain> .......> Update file tags To remove above file tags : Select all the playlist to be processed>Right click on above selected playlist>Replay Gain>Remove RG information from Files But All players are not able to read the Replay Gain written to meta data by Foobar. At present most compatible is mp3gain. most compatible player is AIMP Android / Windows it is able to effective for Replay Gain written by mp3gain, foobar, r128gain‑1.0.11‑win64‑gui (options EBU R128, Replay gain, Replay gain 2) USB Player Pro (Android) V6.0.3 is able compatible but not v6.1.0.0
  • A big pity that the developer seems to have left the stage, and there is no active forum on this tool. It looks promising, but without an active community with it's input and dialogue this will probably not reach it's potential. That's a shame.
  • Unfortunately compilation does not work on my fedora. Configure is ignoring my yasm-devel and it's trying to download it from non-existing URL.
  • 1. Would be nice to be able to select "db" instead of "LU" for tagging from GTK apps. db can be chosen if cli programm is started. 2. Would be nice to be able to limit the tags written into file. 9 new tags are written to my flacs by default!!! E.g. I'd just need replaygain_album_gain and maybe replaygain_track_gain. 3. I do also experience slow-downs, especially when doing large collections Processor load on my 8 Core machine with 8GB RAM is around 99.3% !?!? And still it took 6 hours for 3000 tracks! 4. If I convert large collections with hundreds of CDs, it would be nice to have an option that would allow to skip files/directories that are already converted and/or do have a certain RPG tag in place. That's one of the key features I'd like to see. Because after 6 hours I broke up the process and got just 50 % converted. Now I'm forced to redo all of them. Beside that I really like the application. I hope somebody is reading this. Cheers
  • BUG: Using 1.0.1 on Ubuntu 13.10-amd64 Configured to sox and convert mp3 to flac, the gui went away and the shell shows SoX sucessfully loaded. FFmpeg sucessfully loaded. Failed opening "/usr/local/bin/r128gain-tools/liblibMagickCore-6.Q16.so". Error loading MagickWand. This is a path problem that cannot be solved in the .ini file. The libMagickCore-6.Q16.so exist in the /r128gain-tools/ folder. But there is no liblibMagickCore-6.Q16.so in it. Please fix this, there is enourmous potential in this program. It supports batch conversions with gaining of whole music collections. Thx
