Hi there, I'm interested in using the qwad-fw from within Apache Cocoon (specifically Cocoon's advanced cform functionality.) I think it would be an excellent addition to the widget set provided by Cocoon. To do this, I would need to remove dependencies on PHP, and replace them with similar functionality as provided by Cocoon. Are you able to give some background on the best way to remove the PHP dependancy? The loader.php seems fairly straight-forward, is there anything else lurking that I should know about? Thanks, Corin |

Hi all, I have just released a new application - QWAD Chat - as BETA. It uses the QWAD Framework and JPSpan to provide a completely Javascript/CSS/HTML chat application supporting multiple rooms with tabs etc. Some of its features include: - Fully Javascript/PHP driven - user doesn't have to download Java - Doesn't use page refreshing - Supports "SAFE" HTML to add colours, font sizes etc. - Supports images through <img> tag and straight URL detection - Fully re-skinnable using CSS http://www.qwadchat.com/ All feedback would be appreciated. Cheers, Chris -- QWAD Technologies http://www.qwad.com.au |

Hi, Just a quick note letting everyone know that I've just re-written the dependancy loader to support PHP4 and to be much neater. It can be downloaded at: http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/qwadframework/qwadframework-0.3.1.tar.gz?download Cheers, Chris -- QWAD Technologies http://www.qwad.com.au |

Hi Salvador, Thanks for the feedback, I'm glad you like it :) > I'm wondering about the structure of the underlying PHP application. The application logic (Model) is still located on the server-side, but is accessible directly from the View (via Javascript) - rather than the Model producing the View. I am yet to fully document the QWAD Framework design to assist developers, but that should be coming soon. As far as the PHP in QWAD goes, it plays two roles: 1) Provide simple server connectivity with the client (handled through JPSpan) 2) Assist developers by managing Javascript dependancies and providing a simple loading mechanism Currently the dependancies PHP code is very bloated and requires PHP5 - which it appears most hosts are not yet supporting. I am about to re-write the code to be much smaller and be PHP4 compatible. Have a good New Year! Cheers, Chris |
