QuillTex is now a year old!

And I'm back from vacation, and am still working on QuillTex! The website was updated few weeks ago, and now uses xml data from the svn logs rather than plain text (sometimes there's a huge lag on the logs, blame sourceforge). Within the next couple of weeks I'll add basic statistics as well.
As for QuillTex updates, they're chugging along.

Website Update

Well, finally, I have the Sourceforge news posts on the website, as well as the project summary linked. Its all dynamic, so less maintenance for me! I've slightly modified the SVN Logs as well. I may use an XML parser later for better control, but currently I don't want to implement another one.

Conditional Port to Windows

Just so its in the common space.

If someone finds/writes a Qt wrapper for cygwin, I'll build a QuillTex wrapper for it, and port QuillTex to Windows.

And as a bonus, build an installer for it.

Mailing Lists

If you don't have a more direct way of contacting me, please use the mailing lists (actually, email is probably the most direct way of contacting me, anyways).
I've disabled the forums, as I think they suck a lot on sourceforge, and I don't want to be a forum mod.
Wiki will probably stay...actually, just had an idea, yeah it will stay.

SVN logs -> Home Page

Updating the news feed on the home page to pull from the SVN logs. So, you'll get new news if you want to or not, albeit often brief.

Also for your viewing pleasure I have added the files changed. Sometimes I get lazy and don't comment all the files changed.

I got off my ass and made a website, so use it!

So, at 4 this morning I decided to make a website for QuillTex.

Anyways, all news will be there, as well as all the useful sourceforge links for the project.

QuillTex is now my favourite IDE!

Well, I now have code that works, and compiles (at least on my 64-bit Fedora 8 install), and works excellently as a console IDE.

So...

I will now be using QuillTex as my default editor interface. Which will hopefully result in more svn commits.

The only thing I kind've regret not having in this update is the "current directory" for the xterm. I tried really hard, but QProcess doesn't seem to leave me any clues. Nor does the PID under /proc that I can get through QProcess.... read more

Terminal Editor

Recently came across something very useful.

Qt4 code for embedding an xterm...

Which just so happens to co-inside with my latest change-of-mind to use vim (and whatever ekse I want to add as a plugin) for editing in QuillTex.

And no, I'm not removing mouse functionality from QuillTex (the Tablet needs it more or less), I'll just be designing the interface without the need to ever use the mouse (with the execption of the tablet plugins).... read more
