First of all THANKS A MILLION for creating a such an useful tool. I wish I knew about this while ago even though it was out there.
Is there a partially available schema? If I understand correctly that's what shows at the bottom of the screen some description about the segment and/or field?

I am currently planning and prototyping schema admin tools to add to the editor, if anybody is interested. If you have any specific features that you would like to see included, please jump in here.

Main features I am planning are:
- a summary overview
- an editor form
- extending the metadata for defining documentation units (e.g. HL7 version, msg-type, segment-type, field-type) and matching to the item being edited/viewed.
- a packaging/import/export mechanism for sharing sets of the schema documentation

I will keep this issue open as the most appropriate place for discussions on the schema admin design.

Hi there,

Thanks for releasing such a useful tool. This has made creating some test messages MUCH easier and has helped enormously with getting me up to speed on HL7 messages.

It would be great if clicking a component showed you the corresponding component specification for whatever schema is being used. Example: PV1.7.1 = <ID number="" (ST)="">, PV1.7.2 = <family name="" (ST)="">, etc.

I have some changes to the schema definitions and how they are displayed, it's still a work in progress, tho my Windows box died so I won't be working on it for a while. I'm still working with HL7 tho, so be assured this app is still part of my testing tools and I do make updates when I get time to.
