I find myself slowed down quite a bit when I have to erase a letter I mistyped. What I would like is a default flick for each direction (which would work if there was no direction defined already like capital flick). This way I could assign left flicks to erase the letter, or maybe run a DA or something. I personally don't use the uppercase and space flick at all, and I wish this could be replaced with something that I use more often. This could also be used if you didn't like the capital flick going up, you could rearange that using special letter uppercase tags or something or just normal things like backspace or launch DA. This would be really cool!

The problem with these default flicks is, they are hard
coded. To change this to your suggestion, I had to hard code
it the other way. So, right now I have no idea, how to
accomplish this. One solution could be, to disable it the
default behaviour at all.
Another - tedious - way to work around this, would be to
define every single flick with every single character.

Does disabling the uppercase and space flick help you with
your problem? If so, you might take a look at the 2.1.0 beta
version. There, I added the feature requests 623488 and
657403, which means two new checkboxes for disabling the up-
and right-flick.
