Nathanael,

A number of other GUI tweaks that I think would be useful. This may be a tall order, since it hasn't been changed since 2006. But I am finding this to be the perfect little app! Thanks!

1. The user should be able to label the keys differently than the underlying text to keep the layout minimal. In theory, a single key could enter an entire phrase, yet display only an abbreviation on the button itself.

2. To minimize the number of keys further, a user should be able to assign multiple uses for the same button, using different follow-on keystrokes. So, instead of having separate buttons for Á, á, É, é, Í, í, Ó, ó, Ú and ú, there's one button for the accent mark, and several user-defined actions: SHFT+A, a, SHFT+E, e, and so on.

3. If the user is typing, he shouldn't need to manually edit the font to match the rest of the text he is entering with the real keyboard. So there could be an easy toggle for the keypad to track whatever the underlying font is. There may be situations where characters won't display correctly in a given font. Then the user just hits undo, toggles the font tracker option to off, and presses the key again.

4. So that a user needn't resort to dragging a mouse pointer to click a button, the keypad should be responsive to "tab" and "enter" shortcuts when it is the active window.

5. The keypad should be minimizable / expandable with a single keystroke.

6. It might even be packaged as a Windows Sidebar gadget, which would do the hiding / expanding automatically. Move mouse to the edge to get Sidebar, then roll the mouse over a QK zone to put the expanded keypad at your disposal.

Thanks!
