function terminates after 1st error
Linux, Windows and Apple Mac File Hashing GUI Tool
Brought to you by:
tedtechnology
V2.6.9 on Windows 10
Function "Compare Directories" selected and after some hours an error occurred:
"Could not get Handle ..." popup. Selected "OK".
Then popup "Invalid file handle. Press OK to ignore ...", pressed OK.
and now, nothing happens, Status is still "...please wait", "Time Finished: Please wait...",
some Files are listed in (Dir A), but function does not continue with next files.
Same Problem with function "FileS".
Most likely is one of the files was open by a program in Windows with a non sharing access code, meaning quickhash could not get a handle to it.
Can you check if any of the files you were trying to examine might have been open elsewhere?

There are some more reasons for an open-error, i.e. virus-scanner denied access, which can be prevented. But I could not find a way to circumvent open-error for encrypted file. But more important is the fact, that the compare terminates without result. When I compare two large directory-trees with about 20.000 files each, I expect some files with vague compare result because of open-error, but all other 19.990 files should have a defined compare-result. So I think, the "Compare Directories" should not terminate because of one (ore more) open errors.
Sorry for the long delay in replying.
I must admit that QH's file handling routines are not that good and need improvement. I'll look at improving this for future versions.
