The onRun method is currently empty. Must it be a endless loop ? I start the quickfix stuff in a separate thread and hold the thread as a JMX (java message extension). Well, yeah. The engine won't run after onRun exits. This is no longer true in the version in the repository, but if you are running any of the releases, you need to keep that method alive. Hello Oren, I put a endless loop in the onRun method. Now I get a "abnomal program termination" and the vm crash/ends after this error. I get this error only during connection time. In the acceptor mode when a new fix connection is established and in the initiator mode during opening connection to the fix server. I get no stacktrace, nothing. I try already quickfix 1.4.0, 1.4.1 and the latest from cvs, with the same result. This happens only if I start it together/with jboss J2EE server. Jboss starts for each new module a new thread. Could this be a problem ? Thank you.. Cheers, jj -----Original Message----- From: qui...@li... [mailto:qui...@li...] On Behalf Of Oren Miller Sent: Freitag, 11. I built QuickFIX on FreeBSD 5.0 several months ago and it seemed to work fine. When porting there is a full suite of unit tests and functional tests that can be run in order to verify that a port is succesful. --- "H. Can someone tell me what this "Tried to send a reject while not logged on" means? There is no reject sent or received at this step... Thanks a lot. Hi, I want to run the quickfix 1.12.4 on windows . I took a fresh machine and installed java 1.5 and msxml3 there. Then I ran a my program there to test JNI. ( Pl look the code below ) . Then I am got the following error. All other classpaths were ok. I think quickifix depends on some other .dll on windows plat form. I can't figure out what are they. Because when I install the Visual Studio 2005 IDE. It start working. I am wonder what is this hidden dependency. I build the quickfix using VS2005 . public class JNITest{ static{ System.loadLibrary("quickfix_jni"); } public static void main(String args[]) throws Exception{ System.out.println("Start the JNI Compatibility Test Program...."); Message m = new Message(); SessionSettings settings = new SessionSettings(new FileInputStream("../test.cfg")); MessageStoreFactory messageStoreFactory = new FileStoreFactory(settings); LogFactory logFactory = new FileLogFactory(settings); MessageFactory messageFactory = new DefaultMessageFactory(); System.out.println("Successfully Loaded the JNI...."); } } Regards, Eranga |

Hi Eranga, Maybe, what you need to do is the installation of Visual C++ runtime DLLs. If you installed Visual Studio 2005 SP1 recently, make sure you have installed the correct package when you deploy your application, a binary compiled with SP1 depends on a slightly different VC runtime version, its abasence generates this silly error - application configuration is incorrect. Hi, I see some previous discussion regarding using SSL with QuickFix, but there does not appear to be any integrated support. I'm wanting to integrate QuickFIX into an existing C# client application. Does anyone know of any existing code or support for this? I don't want to go down the stunnel route as my client application needs to be a complete solution without requiring other applications to run. Cheers, Chris |

Hi all, I work with an application where we use QuickFix/J as the engine for an auto-test framework (from what I can see we are using version 1.3.0). The problem is that when waiting in a test for messages to arrive, the session threads seem to block. The test sets up sesssions, sends messages, and waits for messages to arrive back from the server in order to validate that the expected messages are received. The wait has a timeout, and no matter how log/short this timeout is, the messages appear after the wait loop has terminated. Some messages are sent after the wait loop, and that seems to make session threads "come alive" again. Note that the wait loop yields properly, and that SingleThreadedEventHandlingStrategy.block() polls for messages properly during the wait loop. It is the session threads that call SingleThreadedEventHandlingStrategy.onMessage() that seems to to block. Any hints before I start to dig deeper into this? Anyone recognizing this problem? Might it help to upgrade to version 1.4.0?
