Hi all, I'm using an application directly developed from the tradeclient example in C++. How can I make this applicaton generate a log file with all messages sent and received? Thanks. |

Dear All, Sorry, if it is the same old repeated post. As I could not able to fix the problem, I am sending this post. I greatly appreciate your kind help. I am very new to QuickFix. I have downloaded quickfix-1.12.4 and trying to some tests on VS2008. In the QuickFix documentation it is mentioned: *Simply open the appropriate solution file and do a batch build of all the projects. This will create lib\quickfix.lib and lib\debug\quickfix.lib which can be linked into your applications. The header files will also be copied to the include directory. * So, I have double clicked quickfix_vs8, but I could not able to see any batch build option. Can any one please kindly tell me, how to do this batch build of all projects? When I just click 'start debug' it is throwing error, saying that 'can't include ole2.h' '. Could you please kindly help me with this start up problem? I have gone through the mailing list and down loaded the two missing .dlls (quickfix_net_messages.dll and quickfix_net.dll) but still the problem remianed as it is. Thanks in advance. Regards, M. N. Kishore Babu. |

Hi Kenny, Thanks for the quick response. Am I correct in thinking that if I use user_defined to stick fields in messages then I'm effective overriding the typing that's enforced if you use the generated headers? How do the user defined fields and the data dictionary relate? The image I have currently is that the data dictionary is used to validate messages somewhere inside the QuickFix engine and then the generated headers or user defined fields are used to actually build those messages. Is that correct? Ben, You do not need to regenerate quickfix with your data dictionary. You can simply tell quickfix to use the data dictionary in your configuration file. DataDictionary=DataDictionary/TT_DD.xml For any custom fields, you can use this method for your getters/setters: http://www.quickfixengine.org/quickfix/doc/html/user_defined.html -- Kenny Stone Connamara Systems, LLC On Sat, Nov 14, 2009 at 8:25 AM, benofben <be...@no...> wrote: > QuickFIX Documentation: > http://www.quickfixengine.org/quickfix/doc/html/index.html > QuickFIX Support: http://www.quickfixengine.org/services.html > > > Hi, > > I'm trying to pull some market data down from a TT FIX Adapter that TT has > configured for me. Hi, I'm trying to pull some market data down from a TT FIX Adapter that TT has configured for me. I've got all the connection details and that seems to be going OK. I'm unsure of what to do next. The data dictionary TT provided seems to be very different from the 4.2 dictionary that comes with QuickFix. I tried running the generate scripts on the TT dictionary and recompiling QuickFix, but got a whole bunch of compile errors. I've also tried using the tradeclient example and connecting using my own configuration but the QuickFix 4.3 dictionary (for some reason the 4.2 example doesn't grab market data). Unsurprisingly that fails as well. So, I have a couple questions: Presumably people have done this in the past. Are there any examples/how-to for TT integration? My googling has completely failed me. Do I need to generate new C++ classes from the TT dictionary and recompile QuickFix? This seems really heavy handed just to work with another dictionary? Apologies if these questions are ridiculous. I'm kind of new to this.... Does quickfix have an automatic reseting of sequence numbers after midnight in GMT?? If so, it maybe causing a reset in a different moment because my server time zone is not in GMT, it is ín eastern time. I am using my fix app with the MBT broker and i need to reset the sequence numbers after midnight in eastern time. How can i configure quickfix to do this in the correct time?? do i need to configure my server time zone to GMT or there is a quickfix parameter?? The senderID and targetID in the fix message and config file should be same. When application is loaded it creates a session based on senderID and targetID combination from the config file. when you fill the fix message it sould contain the same senderID and targetID.If you look at the Session class somewhere it parses the fix message forms a key based on senderID and targetID and searches in the collection. If it does not find any session for the matched key..you get Session not found error. -- View this message in context: http://www.nabble.com/Message-Not-Sent.-Session-Not-Found-tp25537408p26025357.html Sent from the QuickFIX - User mailing list archive at Nabble.com. |

Thanks, but i have already read the documentation. I already have a fix app that was working fine before. Right now i don't know how to control the amount of time to wait before a logon response from server. Hi, i am using QuickFix (Fix4.4) with c# to connect to MBTrading fix gateway and i'm having issues with the log in The man from MBT ask to me the follow in order to continue: "Would you try logging into the live environment and wait up to one minute for a logon response to complete like the demo environment before reconnecting" Can i do this with QuickFix??? i only send a Logon message and then quickfix activates "onLogon" or "onLogout"...when i put the logon message, then quickly quickfix return to me activating onLogout, i don't know how to control an interval to wait for a logon response from MBT. The only time i saw i can configure is the reconnecting interval, that i have configure to 100 seconds in the config file. Thanks in advance, Julio _________________________________________________________________ News, entertainment and everything you care about at Live.com. nevermind, setting PersistMessages=N works. ________________________________ From: Hei Chan <str...@ya...> To: qui...@li... Sent: Mon, October 12, 2009 8:38:13 PM Subject: Persist message all the time? Hi, I am using quickfix c++. I wonder how I can make quickfix stop persisting messsages. According to http://www.quickfixengine.org/quickfix/doc/html/configuration.html, PersistMessages is defualted to N. But I still see new messages being stored in [FileLogPath/]*.body. I have tired to set PersistMessages=N in the configure file. I still see the messages being stored. Am I missing something? Thanks in advance. Cheers, Hei |

We are building/testing with gcc 3.4, 4.1, and 4.3 nightly, so this must be something new with 4.4. I am trying to build a new order based on a conditional value from a db. I can create the order manually with no problem if I hard code in the order type //Create FIX44 message FIX44::NewOrderSingle newOrder( FIX::ClOrdID(ordID), FIX::Side(side), FIX::TransactTime(), FIX::OrdType(*FIX::OrdType_MARKET*) ); dealing with the side if I do the following it works no problem as well: FIX::Side side; ... switch(atoi(row->Get(4))) //where row->Get(4) is an int from a mysql database { case 1: side = FIX::Side_BUY; break; case 2: side = FIX::Side_SELL; break; case 5: side = FIX::Side_SELL_SHORT; break; } However if I try the same with OrdType i get a compile error Tried all three; FIX::OrdType ordType; const char ordType; char ordType; switch(atoi(row->Get(2))) { case 1: ordType = FIX::OrdType_MARKET; break; case 2: ordType = FIX::OrdType_LIMIT; break; case 3: ordType = FIX::OrdType_STOP; break; } Thanks in advance Bobby |
