[Quickfix-developers] When to set the PossResend field

I'm using QF 1.11.0 for Java and have a question regarding when to send an 
application message with the PossResend field set.

Is it only set when an order that I've sent to my counterpart hasn't been 
acknowledged within an agreed time, forcing me to resend the message with 
the PossResend field set?

Essentially yes.  PossResend means you are duplicating the contents of a 
previous message in a new message with a different sequence number.  You 
will need to talk to your counterparty as to their support for this 
field.  FIX engines do not generally handle this field automatically as 
it requires application logic to implement.
