That would resolve this issue: 20080506-19:55:11 : Message 79 Rejected: Invalid tag number:6081 However these other two are being rejected for another reason. 20080506-20:32:54 : Message 132 Rejected: Required tag missing:55 20080506-20:33:55 : Message 135 Rejected: Tag not defined for this message type:14 The first one is because your data dictionary requires tag 55 to be in the message, but it isn't present. The other one is because tag 14 is being put in the message when it isn't defined as a member. Any idea why you are getting messages like this? You may need to adjust your data dictionary file to their spec. --oren > -------- Original Message -------- > Subject: Re: [Quickfix-developers] MsgType = AS, AllocationReport, > Fix44 > From: azmat <mr...@gm...> > Date: Tue, May 06, 2008 4:49 pm > To: qui...@li... > QuickFIX Documentation: http://www.quickfixengine.org/quickfix/doc/html/index.html > QuickFIX Support: http://www.quickfixengine.org/services.html > Oren, > thanks for the reply. Oren, thanks for the reply. How do I validate? Is this the only information I need to go through? http://quickfixengine.org/quickfix/doc/html/xmlschema.html Can I use '"ValidateUserDefinedFields=N"' to bypass validation (as Shane suggested)? thanks- Oren Miller wrote: > > QuickFIX Documentation: > http://www.quickfixengine.org/quickfix/doc/html/index.html > QuickFIX Support: http://www.quickfixengine.org/services.html > > Nope. Nope. If a message doesn't pass validation, you won't get it, which is the purpose of the validation. --oren > -------- Original Message -------- > Subject: Re: [Quickfix-developers] MsgType = AS, AllocationReport, > Fix44 > From: azmat <mr...@gm...> > Date: Tue, May 06, 2008 4:34 pm > To: qui...@li... > QuickFIX Documentation: http://www.quickfixengine.org/quickfix/doc/html/index.html > QuickFIX Support: http://www.quickfixengine.org/services.html > I get these sorts of messages in my event log: > 20080506-19:55:11 : Message 79 Rejected: Invalid tag number:6081 > 20080506-20:32:54 : Message 132 Rejected: Required tag missing:55 > 20080506-20:33:55 : Message 135 Rejected: Tag not defined for this message > type:14 > I believe they correlate with the 35=AS messages that were received, but > never processed. azmat, Paste the contents of your config file (with anything applicable to DataDictionary). Invalid tag number: 6081 looks like you are trying to validate user tags and using a data dictionary. If you do need to use a data dictionary still, you need to modify it to either 1) include the user-defined tags (6081) OR 2) In your config file set "ValidateUserDefinedFields=N" -- Shane Trotter Connamara Systems, LLC On Tue, May 6, 2008 at 4:34 PM, azmat <mr...@gm...> wrote: > QuickFIX Documentation: http://www.quickfixengine.org/quickfix/doc/html/index.html > QuickFIX Support: http://www.quickfixengine.org/services.html > > > > I get these sorts of messages in my event log: > > 20080506-19:55:11 : Message 79 Rejected: Invalid tag number:6081 > 20080506-20:32:54 : Message 132 Rejected: Required tag missing:55 > 20080506-20:33:55 : Message 135 Rejected: Tag not defined for this message > type:14 > > I believe they correlate with the 35=AS messages that were received, but > never processed. I get these sorts of messages in my event log: 20080506-19:55:11 : Message 79 Rejected: Invalid tag number:6081 20080506-20:32:54 : Message 132 Rejected: Required tag missing:55 20080506-20:33:55 : Message 135 Rejected: Tag not defined for this message type:14 I believe they correlate with the 35=AS messages that were received, but never processed. Hmm how exactly do I do that? I never used a data dictionary to validate any of the FIX 4.2 messages. Any insight? All, I'm having a problem with implementing the the Allocation Report (msgtype=AS). My counterparty is using Fix44, but whenever they send me a 35=AS message (for a fill on a drop copy implementation), quickFIX never seems to pick up the message. FromApp (and for that matter FromAdmin) is never called, whenever the 35=AS message is received. However, the message does get logged in my quickfix logs. How can I get quickfix to pick up these messages. I am calling the crack method from within fromApp, and have implemented the onMessage below -- but it is never called. public override void onMessage(QuickFix44.AllocationReport allocrpt, SessionID session) { } Any help would be much appreciated. thanks! azmat -- View this message in context: http://www.nabble.com/MsgType-%3D-AS%2C-AllocationReport%2C-Fix44-tp17091080p17091080.html Sent from the QuickFIX - Dev mailing list archive at Nabble.com. |

Hi, Hard to believe I'm the first one to catch this issue. It seems like something very fundamental. Is there a solution close at hand? And when would there be a new release of the library? If there isn't I can take the generated code, hand edit the missing values in the SecurityType class, and then compile. I would rather not do that but I have to move forward. Thanks everybody for their input. Warren -----Original Message----- From: qui...@li... [mailto:qui...@li...] On Behalf Of or...@qu... I really haven't used any validation yet but I believe you should be checking the data dictionary files (xml). The first thing I looked at was the 4.2 data dict and it had the missing values I listed in my original post. See below. It looks like the code generator is taking the common values across 4.0 to 4.4. That's why I tried to do a 4.2 only build. Any other ideas? Thanks. Hi, It looks like quickfix.field.SecurityType class is missing a bunch of enumerated values: FHA FHL FN GN GOVT MUNI RP RVRP SL USTB ZOO The problem's in both self-compiled and binary distributions (this is for quickfixj 1.3.1). It seems like only the common values across all protocols make it in. I would have assumed it would be a super set of all of them. The protocol I'm interested in getting correct is 4.2 so I tried to only build that one by editing the ant scripts but got a bunch of compile errors. I was thinking about re-writing the code generators to do a super set but the code wasn't straight forward. An inelegant thing I can do is edit all the data dictionaries to include all SecurityTypes but I would rather not. Has anybody else run across this problem? Thanks. ________________________________ From: Warren Sze Sent: Friday, May 02, 2008 10:34 AM To: 'qui...@li...' Subject: Missing SecurityType Hi, It looks like quickfix.field.SecurityType class is missing the following a bunch of enumerated values: FHA FHL FN GN GOVT MUNI RP RVRP SL USTB ZOO The problem's in both self-compiled and binary distributions (this is for quickfixj 1.3.1). Thanks.
