[Quickfix-developers] newbie mysql questions

I conigured and compiled quickfix to use mysql. Do I
need to do anything else or are the fix messages
automatically stored to a database on the hard drive?
What is the name of the database file? 

I have never used mysql before. How do I open the
database file of fix messages? I guess I should by a
book on mysql. Does anyone have a recomendation?
