[Quickfix-developers] Log and Message Store

Why does QF store messages in a "Log" and a "MessageStore" ? I am trying to
write a class that uses Sybase for storing messages and would like to
understand the rationale behind using log and store rather than a single
store of messages with the necessary funcationality.
