[Quickfix-developers] Checksums

I tracked down the checksum issue, I think. 
Calculating the checksum for char fields doesn't seem to work properly.
For example, I had a field '40=2' that gave an m_total of 374 in quick
fix where the actual sum is 212 (including the field terminator or
'\001')
 
I haven't tried to fix the issue yet, so I can't be completely sure.
