Yes, there are plans.  ThoughtWorks may have this work subsidized, so it 
may go up in priority very soon.

Hi,

Now that Fix 4.4 has been announced, are there any plans or rough 
estimates
as to if or when quickfix will support this new version?
We are a Fixed Income shop and are interested in using a more standardized
messaging protocol for our type of transactions.  We are currently using
4.2 with some additional custom tags.
