I've searched around and saw some reports about
inet_aton causing segmentation faults on some systems.
 This would possibly manifest itself this way running
under the JVM.

What I havn't found is a good explanation about what
causes this segmentation fault.  Anything you can
share about your operating system, gcc version, and
libc version, as well as the port you are trying to
create might be helpful.
