Jean, On Mac OS X you don't have to do anything special to run the Java API. The build process will create a library called libquickfix_jni.dylib, instead of .so, but otherwise nothing is really different. QuickFIX has only been testing on Mac OS X 10.3 Panther, so I can't speak to earlier versions. The newest versions of the API and Apple JVM should work fine.
