Any > ideas anyone Not sure, but may be that you have an older/faster *ant-gcj* installed in the path, likewise a fastjar (jar-gcj) also; you may check it by issuing any of the following: ant -version dpkg -l |grep ant jar --version After installing and testing 'ant' (ant-gcj) and fastjar, I have tuned the requisite java build.sh scripts.
