I too am getting the error c:\data\project\include\quickfix/Exceptions.h(249) : error C2664: 'FormatMessageW' : cannot convert parameter 5 from 'char [2048]' to 'unsigned short *' using Visual Studio 6. You cannot compile quickfix with unicode. Thus, in your project settings go to: Configuration Properties | General | Character Set and change it to Use Multi-Byte Character Set.
