QuickCapture 0.3.0 released

QuickCapture (http://quickcapture.sourceforge.net) is a simple and easily-extensible application with minimal dependencies, designed to capture and process images taken from web cams. (Currently supports V4L1 and V4L2). It provides a robust feature set, and includes a plug-in system inspired in part by the likes of Pidgin and GIMP.

The 0.3.0 release features a new plug-in system, rewritten internals, and support for Video for Linux 2 web cams. Support for writing images in widely-used compressed image formats like JPEG and PNG has been moved out to plug-ins. QuickCapture 0.3.0 RC1 released

QuickCapture (http://quickcapture.sourceforge.net) is a simple and easily-extensible application with minimal dependencies, designed to capture and process images taken from web cams. (Currently supports V4L1 and V4L2). It provides a robust feature set, and includes a plug-in system inspired in part by the likes of Pidgin and GIMP.

In this release, all of the features planned for 0.3.0 have been written and lightly tested. If all goes well and no major problems are encountered, then 0.3.0 will be released by the end of March. QuickCapture Web Site live!

Long left behind, an all-new QuickCapture web site has now been put online at http://quickcapture.sourceforge.net! It will be the central repository of information about QuickCapture, and will hopefully provide a more aesthetically-pleasing interface than the SourceForge.net documentation system.

The second beta release of QuickCapture 0.3.0 is now available for download. This release moves forward towards the goals set for QuickCapture 0.3.0: an OS-portable application with a redesigned plug-in system.

QuickCapture 0.2.2 and 0.3.0

As of now, I am headed off on vacation, and so the last release of QuickCapture(TM) this year will be a bugfix and service release, 0.2.2. It will aim to fix any existing problem that have been detected, as well as optimize existing code.

In the new year, QuickCapture(TM) 0.2 will retire and be replaced by QuickCapture(TM) 0.3, which has been in the pipeline for some time. Some of the improvements that are slated for QuickCapture(TM) 0.3 is an architecture that is capable of being easily ported across platforms, a UTF-8 compliant string library to help with internationalization, and a revamped utilities suite to clean up the main code base and also optimize some common and /or redundant operations.... read more

QuickCapture 0.1.3 released

The latest version in the QuickCapture beta series has been released! This new QuickCapture features two fixes for increased stability as well as new back-end functionality. It will probably be the last release before the new 0.2 series premieres.

QuickCapture 0.1.2 released

The latest minor update in the QuickCapture beta series has been released and can be downloaded from the QuickCapture project page (http://sourceforge.net/quickcapture)! QuickCapture is a program to capture still images and live video feed from web cams, while requiring only minimal dependencies. QuickCapture 0.0.6 released!

QuickCapture 0.0.6, the latest version in the alpha series, has been released. QuickCapture is a free video capture program designed to have minimal dependencies and to work on a wide variety of Linux-based systems. See the QuickCapture website at https://sourceforge.net/projects/quickcapture.

QuickCapture version 0.0.4 released!

The latest version in the QuickCapture alpha series, 0.0.4, has been released! It features the integration of the new image effect plugin system into the standard program configuration. Numerous bugs have been fixed in this release, with special attention to memory errors. Try it out and see what you think!

QuickCapture 0.0.3 released!

QuickCapture 0.0.3, the next version in the alpha series, has been released! It features a variety of improvements over version 0.0.2, primarily in terms of increased versatility and extensibility. A new plugin system has been written and a simple plugin to go with it.
Although the plugin system is not yet fully integrated into the main code, look for it, along with configuration and command-line options, in version 0.0.4.

QuickCapture version 0.0.2 released!

I have finished testing version 0.0.2 and am satisfied that it works as well as an alpha should. It features numerous advancements, and many more are on the way for version 0.0.3!

QuickCapture 0.0.2 ready!

The next version of QuickCapture alpha is ready for release! Currently I am testing this release candidate... expect it soon! In this release, image stamping will be re-added, along with numerous little updates, including several bug fixes.

QuickCapture version 0.0.1 released

Today QuickCapture 0.0.1 was released, an alpha release primarily aimed at putting code out there, and making it available for others to use and/or extend. Development is ongoing and active on this project, and many more changes will be arriving soon!
