queued on solaris 2.7 seems to sort of die after a short while and not respond. The parent process fails to reap the defunct queued which sits around forever. The only 2.7 machine where this does not happen is the machine which hosts the sharedstatedir I also notice a bug in "configure", the path for the sharedstatedir (should begin /usr/local/com) is actually set according to localstatedir and ignores sharedstatedir altogether.
