#26 Works with -D, but not without!

Odd problem... just finished configuring (with
--enable-root) and installing on RedHat 7.3. Starting
queued normally, I get:

[root@rcn0 queue-1.40.1beta]# queue -- hostname
Queue: Failed to submit job to queue "now".

If I kill queued and restart it as 'queued -D', it
works perfectly.

Why would the debug output option change its
operation? Am I missing something here?

This is 1.40.1beta.
