I've updated the initial work spec some - the main thing I need to do other than flush out 'create character' more is to specify what initial data we will need to provide to make this work. I'm not talking a lot of data (in fact, less is better right now). Tomorrow (Monday) evening I'll update the spec with the specifics on the data that we need to collect, and the exact process whereby (probably not a word) a character is generated. The latest spec can be checked out via the Subversion repository; the details are in the Subversion project page. If you don't want to check the source out from Subversion, it's visible on the Sourceforge site by browsing the repository: http://questgen.svn.sourceforge.net/viewvc/questgen/trunk/docs/Quest%20Generator%20-%20Inital%20Work%20Spec.txt?view=markup Please comment as to if it seems reasonable thus far, and if I have too much / too little detail (this is, however, a partially complete rough draft). My goal for early this week is to get us some simple prerequisites that we can get started with before we step into actual Lua code. My goal for this upcoming weekend is to get the package framework in place so we have a skeleton to work from. If any of you have any comments, questions, etc., please air them. Thanks. Richard |
