DB in question is SQL Server 2000, QC version is 4.0.0.0.

IIRC this worked fine in 3.0.0.6...

Appears to be fixed in 4.0.1.0. But the bug #1100838 STILL
isn't fixed, at least not in the 4.0.1.0 binaries...
