hi my name is istvan nagy, a hardware design engineer from UK. request: is it possible to support IBIS models in the QUCS? and also a triggered curtesian waveform display to analyse signal integrity (eye diagram) when using IBIS models. tech question: how is the transmission line modelling done in QUCS? field solver, or IPC equations, or something else? (i am asking just because of the accuracy) best regards, Istvan ps: your software is already great. |

IBIs was GPL a long time ago but now is proprietary, I think (not checked) last GPL version Ibis 2 > and also a triggered curtesian waveform display to analyse signal > integrity (eye diagram) when using IBIS models. Moreover IBIS is not really accurate, but it is another problem. And moreover could lead to non physical stuff > tech question: > how is the transmission line modelling done in QUCS? (which is unphysically since load isn't considered) > and also a triggered curtesian waveform display to analyse signal > integrity (eye diagram) when using IBIS models. i'll put eye-diagram on todo list. > tech question: > how is the transmission line modelling done in QUCS? > field solver, or IPC equations, or something else? (i am asking just > because of the accuracy) IPC? transmission lines are modelled using the TEM approximation in qucs formulated as S- or Y-parameters as function of frequency. hope this helps, stefan. |
