Hi, I was trying to compile Qucs 0.0.8 on my PowerBook 17" (January 2005) with = Mac OS X 10.4.4 and the most recent official Xcode installed, but as I try = =2E/configure, I get the message >The qucs package has never been compiled or run on this platform. > Please send an email to <quc...@li...> including you= r > compiler and Qt version and whether it worked correctly or not. I didn't apply any mo= dification to any setting, just tried ./configure and the execution stopped= =2E I believe my compiler is gcc as it can be found on an usual Mac OS X 10.4.4= installation. gcc 4.0.1, I guess. The version of Qt is qt-mac-opensource-src-4.1.0. I followed Qt instructions and did add the lines >PATH=3D/usr/local/Trolltech/Qt-4.1.0/bin:$PATH >export PATH to my .profile file (I'm a bit scared bash user) after having installed Qt.= I installed Qt just following the plain vanilla ./configure-make-(sudo) ma= ke install sequence and everything went happily, or so it seems to me. To be honest, I first tried to ./configure Qucs without having added the PA= TH commands for Qt to .profile, and I got an error because the flow didn't = find moc in Qt. After having edited .profile this part went smoothly, but t= hen I got the error I began my message with. If you can give me a little help, I'll thank you very heartily. I think I'm= thanking you in advance for your attention right now. :) Best regards and keep up with the good job, lux --=20 In dubio pro rebus. - lux |

I think I'm thanking you in advance for your attention right now. :) i dont really get the point. it did work out, right? setting environment variables isnt an unsual thing to do, especially when you have stuff not "properly" installed in your system. you might have done QTDIR=/usr/local/Trolltech/Qt-4.1.0 ./configure; make; sudo make install which should've worked without the (permanent) change to your .profile file. dont be afraid of your shell (bash), its your friend. bash is even a good friend. thanks for using qucs. Right now Qucs is not meant to work with Qt4. These kinds of problems will be work on when it is planned to do so. If you want Qucs to be working you need a Qt3 (>= 3.1) installation. Just one final question: will I need to uninstall Qt= 4 and install Qt3, or just install Qt3 overwriting Qt4? You don't need to overwrite Qt4 to have Qt3 installed. If you want to switch between them you only need to set your QTDIR environment variable appropriately. > Thanks for all the interest and the attention also, You're welcome. Cheers, Stefan. |
