I plan to package for debian qucs. Why did you embed adms ? I have a package on the way for adms and I need to purge it from qucs. Bastien |

Dear Bastien, We have decided to package adms since the open source version was difficult to obtain. ADMS is needed when the xml files in qucs-core/src/components/verilog need to be rebuilt, but it is not essential for qucs to function. It is ok if you want to purge adms from qucs for the debian distribution. Yes, I bundled adms because the official version was not easily obtained, and there is, or was at the time, also a new incompatible version. Trust me when I say I would rather not have done this. you can build using a locally installed version of adms rather than the bundled version using configure option -with-adms=external, it is only required for maintainer builds and is not required for distribution.
